ONLiDANCE
Events of recent years have led us to a new format – online dance competitions called ONLiDANCE.
Participants have the opportunity to take part in multiple semi-final rounds, in each of which they collect points for the MiA Dance League ranking according to their placement. In addition to the point score, competitors also receive feedback from the judges, medals, diplomas and other awards, which will be sent after the competition ends.
From some online competitions it is also possible to qualify for the in-person final.
How does the online competition work?
- Register your choreography together with the competitors at www.miafestival.cz – the procedure is the same as for registering for a standard competition.
- A video must be attached to the registration.
- Where: MiA TV
- When: according to the event calendar at www.miafestival.cz. If you qualify, you can start working on your final videos.
- Advancement: from the online semi-final round, competitors normally advance to the online final ONLiDANCE. From some ONLiDANCE semi-final rounds, it is also possible to qualify for the in-person final.
- Age: no restriction.
Types of competitions
- MiA Dance League – anyone can participate in any number of competitions and collect points across both online and in-person competitions.
- Home hobby choreography – “choreography of the year from the living room.”
- Profi Dance – for advanced and professional dancers.
- One in Group – those who do not have their own choreography can rehearse one of the model choreographies.
- LIVE – you can register for live broadcasting.
- Creative Video – 50% of the score is based on dance and 50% on the video itself.
How to join
- If you want to participate repeatedly and collect placement points, register for ONLiDANCE League.
- If you consider yourself a hobby dancer, train little and for a short time, register for ONLiDANCE Home.
- If you train frequently and for a long time and consider your performance professional, register for Profi Dance.
- If you put significant effort into your video, used various effects, editing, etc., register for Creative Video.
How to sign up
If the ONLiDANCE competition is announced, it will appear in the event calendar and you will be able to register in the same way as for an in-person competition.
Advantages of ONLiDANCE
- Coaches can see who their choreography is competing against and what the opponents are like. In some online competitions, the result can be consulted immediately with the judges.
- Judges have more time and a calm environment for evaluation. During the decision-making process, they can return to the choreography and replay it as many times as needed.
